Jakarta, 11 September 2025 – CHAGEE Indonesia, a renowned international tea brand, today officially announced its Halal certification from Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH). This milestone, which was first marked at CHAGEE's opening in MARGOCITY, Depok, reflects CHAGEE's commitment to serving customers with confidence and assurance, and its dedication to embedding the highest standards of quality and trust across all aspects of its operations in Indonesia.

The Halal certification underscores CHAGEE’s adherence to the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) under Indonesia’s Law No. 33 of 2014, which requires strict oversight of every stage of the supply chain — from raw materials and production to logistics and in-store operations — to prevent any risk of non-Halal contamination.

“Securing Halal certification from Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) is an important milestone for us. Even though CHAGEE is still relatively new in the Indonesian market, we made this our top priority to ensure that every step of our expansion is guided by trust and responsibility," said Adinda Yozari, General Manager of CHAGEE Indonesia. “This achievement reflects our promise that every cup of CHAGEE tea can be enjoyed with trust and peace of mind. We are especially proud to have marked this milestone in Depok, a city with a vibrant Islamic heritage and strong values of togetherness.”

To uphold these standards, CHAGEE Indonesia has put in place a series of strict measures across its operations, including:

  •   Approved Supplier Lists – sourcing only Halal-certified raw materials from verified suppliers.
  •  Halal SOPs – covering raw material verification, strict segregation measures to prevent cross-contamination, and cleansing procedures (sertu/samak) in case of impurities.
  •  Regular Audits and Training – conducting internal Halal audits at least twice a year in every store, and ensuring all operational staff complete Halal awareness training through CHAGEE Academy, CHAGEE's online training portal for store partners.
  •  Halal Logistics & Warehousing – maintaining transport, storage, and distribution channels that remain free from non-Halal contact throughout the supply chain.

“Indonesia is home to the world’s largest Muslim population, and Halal certification is both a regulatory expectation and a reflection of our values as a nation. CHAGEE Indonesia's swift completion shows its seriousness in respecting Muslim consumers and building trust from the very beginning," said Dr. Muhammad Aqil Irham, M.Si, Main Secretary of BPJPH. "This commitment not only supports Indonesia’s Halal roadmap, but also strengthens our role as a global leader in Halal assurance."

The certification also ensures that all new store openings and product innovations in Indonesia will continue to comply with the strict rules and regulations of BPJPH , reinforcing CHAGEE’s long-term commitment to serving customers with confidence.

The milestone was first celebrated at Depok, where the community warmly welcomed the brand’s Halal commitment. As CHAGEE continues to grow across Greater Jakarta, the same standards of care and assurance will guide every new store, ensuring customers can enjoy modern tea culture with confidence and peace of mind.
