Jakarta, Indonesia, August 3, 2026 – CHAGEE Indonesia invites tea lovers to experience a new classic with the launch of Apple English Breakfast Tea. The launch introduces a limited-edition tea alongside an exclusive merchandise collection created in partnership with Tate, one of the United Kingdom's most respected cultural institutions. Inspired by three iconic still-life paintings from Tate's collection, this collaboration tells a story of tea, apples, and art that transcends cultures and generations.

Two Traditions, One Cup

Tea and apples are two of the most enduring symbols in human history. Originating in China thousands of years ago, tea has evolved into a daily ritual across the world, from traditional tea houses in East Asia to breakfast tables in Britain. Apples have likewise been cultivated for millennia across Europe and Asia and have appeared in Western art for centuries.

With Apple English Breakfast Tea, CHAGEE pays tribute to these two timeless traditions in a way that feels both familiar and refreshingly contemporary.

A Tea Blend That Travels Across Continents

The blend is crafted from five carefully selected teas, each contributing its own distinctive character. Assam tea from India forms the robust foundation with its rich, malty profile. Lapsang Souchong from Wuyishan, Fujian, adds depth through its signature pine-smoked aroma, complemented by the smooth richness of Yunnan Golden Pekoe. Four Seasons Spring tea from Taiwan brings delicate floral notes and balance, while Highland Qilan from Fujian completes the blend with its elegant, lingering orchid fragrance.

Each tea is roasted and processed individually before being slowly blended under carefully controlled temperature and humidity, allowing every aroma to harmonize naturally without overpowering the others.

The apples used are Red Fuji apples from Shandong, China. They undergo a whole-fruit cold extraction process using both the skin and flesh, without adding water, sugar, or preservatives. The resulting juice is then infused into the tea leaves at low temperatures before being vacuum-dried to preserve its flavor, allowing the apple notes to integrate seamlessly into the blend.

"Culture has always traveled through food and beverages, and tea may be one of history's greatest examples," said Adinda Yozari, General Manager of CHAGEE Indonesia. "Through Apple English Breakfast Tea, we wanted to celebrate that journey in a single cup, creating something that resonates with people across different countries and cultures."

Art in Your Hands, Art You Can Drink

Three masterpieces from Tate's collection serve as the inspiration behind the CHAGEE │ Tate merchandise collection, each representing a different chapter in art history.

A Plate of Apples (1861) by Henri Fantin-Latour showcases the artist's meticulous attention to composition and detail, capturing everyday objects with remarkable naturalistic precision. In Still Life with Water Jug (c.1892–93), Paul Cézanne repeatedly painted the same arrangement while experimenting with perspective, presenting multiple viewpoints within a single composition. The result is a contemplative study of form, color, and perception. Meanwhile, The Basket of Fruit (1925) by Mark Gertler celebrates bold color and dynamic composition, combining careful observation with expressive style that reflects the spirit of early twentieth-century British art.

Together, these works demonstrate how a familiar subject can be interpreted in remarkably different ways depending on the artist and the era.

The artworks are featured throughout the limited-edition packaging, including beverage cups, insulated takeaway bags, and a curated selection of collectible merchandise. Each item is designed to bring art into everyday life—creating objects that can be held, used, and treasured.

Customers can look forward to a range of collectible items, including but not limited to:

CHAGEE's year-long partnership with Tate extends beyond this product collection. CHAGEE also supports Tate's Paper and Photography Conservation Work, helping fund the preservation and physical care of artworks within Tate's national collection so they can continue to inspire future generations.

This partnership reflects the shared belief of CHAGEE and Tate that culture should remain vibrant, accessible, and preserved for generations to come.

Rosey Blackmore, Director of Licensing and Merchandising at Tate, said:

"At Tate Enterprises, we are always looking for meaningful ways to extend engagement with Tate's collection beyond our galleries. This partnership has enabled CHAGEE to create a product range that brings together art, design, and everyday rituals, inspired by Henri Fantin-Latour's A Plate of Apples, Paul Cézanne's Still Life with Water Jug, and Mark Gertler's The Basket of Fruit from Tate's collection. We are excited to see audiences discover these artworks in a new context through this unique cultural experience."

To celebrate the launch, CHAGEE Indonesia will host an interactive pop-up experience at PIK Avenue from August 6–12, 2026. Centered around the concept of Drinkable Masterpieces, inspired by the three iconic still-life paintings from Tate's collection and the Apple Tree, the experience combines art, tea, and storytelling to invite visitors to appreciate these masterpieces in a fresh new context while discovering the inspiration behind Apple English Breakfast Tea.

Meanwhile, the CHAGEE store at Lippo Mall Puri will feature a dedicated photo booth highlighting Masterpiece Moments, offering visitors another way to celebrate the launch from August 6–12, 2026.

Apple English Breakfast Tea has been available since August 2, 2026, at all CHAGEE Indonesia stores and through the CHAGEE app. Follow @chagee.id and join the conversation using #SipANewClassic.
