Surabaya, June 4 2026 – CHAGEE officially arrives in Surabaya with the opening of its flagship store at Tunjungan Plaza 6, along with two additional outlets at Pakuwon City Mall and Ciputra World Surabaya. This marks a new chapter in CHAGEE’s journey to bring the Modern Teahouse experience to Indonesia, following its previous presence in Jakarta and Bali.
To celebrate the Grand Opening, CHAGEE is hosting a pop-up at Tunjungan Plaza 6 from June 4–7, featuring a variety of activities and brand interaction points open to the public.
Store Design Built with Surabaya’s Character and Identity
The flagship store at Tunjungan Plaza is one of CHAGEE’s most locally inspired store designs in Indonesia. Embracing the Tropical Colonial Tea House concept, the space draws direct inspiration from Surabaya’s architectural heritage: arches referencing colonial-era buildings, wall motifs adapted from the façade of Balai Pemuda, custom rattan lighting, layered ceilings representing tea plantation terraces, and traditional tile ornaments adorning every corner of the space.
This visual identity was developed in collaboration with Surabaya-based illustrator Nabila Disarifianti, also known as Lalak. Her artwork combines CHAGEE’s tea heritage with iconic symbols of Surabaya, placing the Heroes Monument and the Suro and Boyo statues at the center of layered botanical and ornamental motifs.
CHAGEE’s approach in Surabaya is rooted in a genuine respect for the city’s character. Surabaya residents are known for the Arek Suroboyo spirit, valuing quality and substance over appearance, and demonstrating loyalty to things that consistently prove their worth over time. That is the kind of brand CHAGEE aims to build here: not merely a destination for special occasions, but a reliable part of everyday life.

From June 4 to 7, CHAGEE is hosting a pop-up area at Tunjungan Plaza 6 ahead of its Grand Opening on June 5. Visitors can explore various interactive stations that tell the story of CHAGEE and the concept behind its Surabaya store, sample tea, and participate in fun activities for a chance to win exclusive CHAGEE merchandise. The event is open to the public.
From June 5–7, the Grand Opening celebration at Tunjungan Plaza will continue, where customers can also participate in CHAGEE’s signature Tear and Win campaign for a chance to win prizes such as an iPad Pro M4, a Dyson hair dryer, and many more.
