Jakarta, August 6, 2026 – PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability by implementing sustainable waste management practices, an initiative that adopts a circular economy approach to material management across the company's operations. In recognition of this initiative, Erajaya received the Special Award in the Consumer Goods Sector at the IDX Channel ESG Awards 2026, acknowledging the company's commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

In line with the company's commitment to building a Circular Retail Ecosystem, its sustainable waste management practices have been developed as a comprehensive framework that maps the various types of materials generated from the company's operations while identifying opportunities to manage these materials responsibly and maximize their value through circular economy principles. As a result, materials that would otherwise become waste are given a longer lifecycle and continue to create value for the environment, society, and the business.

This initiative reflects Erajaya's commitment to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its business operations. Through a circular economy approach, Erajaya strives to ensure that every material generated from its operational activities is managed responsibly by prioritizing waste reduction, reuse, and appropriate processing based on each material's characteristics.

Beyond reducing environmental impact, this circular economy approach also creates social and economic value through collaboration with various stakeholders, including the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This reflects Erajaya's efforts to strengthen material management governance while supporting the development of a more sustainable business.

Jimmy Peranginangin, Group Chief of HC, GA, Litigations & CSR at Erajaya Group, said: "For Erajaya, the circular economy is not merely about managing waste—it is about recognizing that every material still holds value as a resource. Through our sustainable waste management practices, we seek to map the various material streams generated by our operations and identify opportunities to responsibly and sustainably reuse them. By doing so, we aim to build a business ecosystem that is not only more resource-efficient but also delivers meaningful benefits for the environment, society, and all of our stakeholders."

Through this approach, Erajaya integrates various material management initiatives into a single ecosystem that supports the implementation of circular economy principles throughout its business operations. The materials managed include e-waste, branding materials, plastics, paper and cardboard, as well as organic waste generated from offices, retail stores, warehouses, service centers, and promotional activities. Each material category is handled using an appropriate approach, ranging from waste segregation and management through licensed waste management partners to recycling and upcycling initiatives involving MSMEs. By extending the lifecycle of each material, Erajaya not only reduces waste generation but also creates added value for the environment, society, and the long-term sustainability of its business.

The program is further strengthened through collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including licensed waste management partners, business partners, communities, and employees. These collaborations encourage more responsible material management practices while expanding the social impact of the company's sustainability initiatives. Erajaya also continues to strengthen its governance through monitoring and reporting systems that support the integrated implementation of ESG principles.

Since its launch, the sustainable waste management initiative has become an integral part of Erajaya's sustainability transformation toward a more circular business model. To date, the company has responsibly managed 54 tonnes of operational waste and 3,911 units of e-waste, while recycling more than 175 kilograms of plastic waste. Collaboration with MSMEs has also enabled the transformation of used materials into value-added products. These initiatives have contributed to reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and minimizing waste sent to landfills. At the same time, ESG education programs and awareness campaigns involving more than 1,000 participants have strengthened stakeholder awareness and participation in building a more sustainable ecosystem.

The recognition at the IDX Channel ESG Awards 2026 reflects Erajaya's success in integrating circular economy principles into its business operations. Moving forward, the company will continue to advance its sustainable waste management practices as part of its strategy to strengthen its Circular Retail Ecosystem, improve resource efficiency, and create long-term value for the environment, society, and all stakeholders.
